    PHILIPP WAGNER FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF VIENNA VISITING VYTAUTAS MAGNUS UNIVERSITY

    On 1-10 September 2019, Philipp Wagner, a lecturer from the University of Vienna, was visiting Vytautas Magnus University. During his visit, Philipp Wagner delivered lectures “Spatial and Temporal Aspects of Islands in Scandinavian Literature” and “Key Concepts in Scandinavian Studies for Cultural Analysis” to students of Vytautas Magnus University. The lecturer who is a speaker of German was also invited to conduct a seminar to the students of German philology on the trends in contemporary German literature research. During his visit, Philipp Wagner also met with the lecturers working at the Faculty of Humanities, and visited the most important culture and literature related places of interest.

    Making Old Lithuanian Texts Usable for Research

    DR. JURGITA MACIJAUSKAITĖ-BONDA FROM VYTAUTAS MAGNUS UNIVERSITY VISITING CHARLES UNIVERSITY IN PRAGUE

    On 24 April – 1 May, Dr. Jurgita Macijauskaitė-Bonda from Vytautas Magnus University was visiting Charles University in Prague, where she met students studying the Lithuanian language and delivered lectures on traditional Lithuanian culture, folklore, mythology and ethnographic regions. During the lectures, Jurgita Macijauskaitė-Bonda presented Lithuanian folk narrative tradition with major focus on etiological and belief legends. On 29 April, she also participated in the conference „Česká baltistika / baltistika Čekijoje 1918–2018“ where she presented a paper on Lithuanian children's  folklore.

    RESEARCHER DR. ŽIVILĖ NEDZINSKAITĖ FROM THE INSITUTE OF LITHUANIAN LITERATURE AND FOLKLORE VISITING ADAM MICKIEWICH UNIVERSITY IN POZNAN

    On June 2-9, Dr. Živilė Nedzinskaitė was visiting Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. The researcher of the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore delivered a cycle of lectures “Latin Literature in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania” and seminars on ancient Lithuanian literature to the students of the Centre of Baltology.

    PROF. DR. BRIGITA SPEIČYTĖ FROM THE INSITUTE OF LITHUANIAN LITERATURE AND FOLKLORE VISITING JAGIELLONIAN UNIVERSITY IN KRAKOW

    On May 6-10, Prof. Dr. Brigita Speičytė was visiting the Centre of Lithuanian Culture at the Department of Border Literature in the Faculty of Polish Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. The researcher of the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore and the lecturer of the Department of Lithuanian Literature at Vilnius University gave lectures on common Polish – Lithuanian heritage and culture.

    RESEARCHER DR. DONATA MITAITĖ FROM THE INSITUTE OF LITHUANIAN LITERATURE AND FOLKLORE VISITING JAGIELLONIAN UNIVERSITY IN KRAKOW

    On May 22-28, Dr. Donata Mitaitė was visiting the Centre of Lithuanian Culture of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. She gave two lectures, the first of which was on the perception of life and creation of the Lithuanian poet Alfonsas Maldonis based on the data of his personal archives. The second lecture was on the representation of history and biography in comic books.

    VAIDAS ŠEFERIS VISITING VILNIUS UNIVERSITY

    On 18-25 May, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vaidas Šeferis from Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, was visiting Vilnius University. During his visit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vaidas Šeferis conducted a seminar to master’s  students and also worked at the University Library, the Wroblewski  Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, Martynas Mažvydas National Library of  Lithuania, and the library of the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore, where he searched for the 18th c. manuscripts related to the life and work of Kristijonas Donelaitis.

    PROF. DR. AURELIJA LEONAVIČIENĖ VISITING INALCO

    On 12-19 May, Prof. Dr. Aurelija Leonavičienė from Vytautas Magnus University paid a visit to INALCO (National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations in Paris), where she met students studying the Lithuanian language and delivered lectures on literary translations from Lithuanian to French and translation of Lithuanian diminutives and culture-specific items from Lithuanian to French.

    PROF. DR. DALIA KUIZINIENĖ FROM VYTAUTAS MAGNUS UNIVERSITY VISITING HELSINKI UNIVERSITY

    On March 25 – April 1, Professor of the Department of Lithuanian Studies and researcher of the Lithuanian Emigration Institute Dr. Dalia Kuizinienė was visiting the University of Helsinki, where she gave lectures on Lithuanian exile Literature.
