    CALL FOR THE LITHUANIAN LANGUAGE SUMMER COURSES AT VMU

    UPCOMING QUALIFICATION DEVELOPMENT COURSES FOR TEACHERS FROM CENTRES FOR BALTIC STUDIES

    The qualification development courses “Searching for New Strategies, Methods and Work Forms in Lithuanian Studies” for teachers from Centres for Baltic studies will take place in Druskininkai from the 28th of January to the 1st of February 2019.  

    DR. DONATA MITAITĖ’S VISIT TO ST PETERSBURG UNIVERSITY

    On the 10th-19th of December 2018, the senior researcher of the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore Dr. Donata Mitaitė visited St Petersburg University where she delivered a series of lectures “Topical Problems of Modern Lithuanian Literature” to the students of the centre for Baltic Studies. 

    ASSOC. PROF. DR. JURGIS PAKERYS VISITING LIEPAJA UNIVERSITY

    On the 3rd – 4th of December 2018, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jurgis Pakerys form the Department of Baltic Studies of Vilnius University visited Liepaja University where he delivered two lectures on morphology and morphonology of the Baltic languages.

    ASSOC. PROF. DR. VYTAUTAS RINKEVIČIUS’S FROM VILNIUS UNIVERSITY VISIT TO THE UNIVERSITY OF WARSAW

    From the 25th of November to the 2nd of December 2018, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vytautas Rinkevičius from the Department of Baltic Studies of Vilnius University visited the University of Warsaw where he delivered a series of lectures “Introduction to the Prussian Language”.   

    PROF. DR. ZANDOS GŪTMANE FROM LIEPAJA UNIVERSITY VISITING VYTAUTAS MAGNUS UNIVERSITY

    On 1-9 November, Prof. Zanda Gūtmane from Liepaja University paid a visit to Vytautas Magnus University where she delivered a lecture on the parallels between Latvian literature, culture and history in the context of Baltic culture. She also met with colleagues and worked at the University Library where she gathered the newest information on Lithuanian literature for her current research and the courses on literature that she teaches at the Liepaja University.

    ASSOC. PROF. DR. BRONĖ STUNDŽIENĖ’S FROM VILNIUS UNIVERSITY VISIT TO UNIVERSITY OF WROCLAW

    On 17–24th of November 2018, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bronė Stundžienė from Vilnius University visited the Centre for Baltic Studies at the University of Wroclaw.  Associate Professor Bronė Stundžienė delivered a series of lectures on traditional Lithuanian culture to the students of the Wroclaw University. The lectures were aimed at giving a synthesised picture of Lithuanian traditional cultural process, which allowed students to grasp its continuation and never ending character of formation of new cultural manifestations.

    PROFESSOR PETERIS VANAGS’S FROM STOCKHOLM UNIVERSITY VISIT TO LITHUANIA

    On the 6–12th of November 2018, Head of the Baltic Studies Centre of Stockholm University, Sweden, Professor Peteris Vanags visited Lithuania. During the visit, professor Peteris Vanags participated at the events dedicated to Simonas Daukantas 225th birth anniversary. He also met colleagues form different research institutions. 

    HEAD OF THE CENTRE FOR BALTIC STUDIES AT BALTIC IMMANUEL KANT FEDERAL UNIVERSITY VIOLETA LOPETIENĖ’S VISIT TO LITHUANIA

    On the 19–25th of November 2018, Head of the Centre for Baltic Studies at Baltic Immanuel Kant Federal University Violeta Lopetienė visited Lithuania. During the short-term visit, she developed her professional qualification, met colleagues for consultations.

    During the visit to Lithuania, at Education Academy of Vytautas Magnus University V. Lopetienė had discussions with teachers of different study subjects, considered future student exchange programmes and perspectives of further cooperation. V. Lopetienė also visited National Martynas Mažvydas Library, where Prof. Dr. Dainius Vaitiekūnas acquainted her with peculiarities of work of the Department of Lithuanian Philology and the newest research. The visit outcomes are important for promotion of Lithuanian studies and culture in Kaliningrad.

    HEAD OF THE CENTRE FOR BALTIC STUDIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WROCLAW DR. TATJANA VOLOGDINA’S VISIT TO LITHUANIA

    On the 12–18th on November 2018, Head of the Centre for Baltic Studies at the University of Wroclaw Dr. Tatjana Vologdina visited Lithuania. She developed her pedagogical qualification at Education Academy of Vytautas Magnus University. Dr. Tatjana Vologdina also discussed with colleagues perspectives of further cooperation and did research in Lithuanian libraries.
