    ALIONA SHYBA’S FROM ČERNOVCY NATIONAL JURIJ FEDKOVIČ PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY VISIT TO LITHUANIAN UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES

    On the 6th–12th of May 2018, Aliona Shyba from the Centre for Baltic Studies of Černovcy National Jurij Fedkovič Pedagogical University visited Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences.  During short-term visit, the guest observed Lithuanian teachers’ lectures, met with some teachers from the Department of Lithuanian Linguistics and Didactics and the Department of English Philology and Didactics. Aliona Shyba shared her experience in teaching Lithuanian to foreign students with Lithuanian teachers. She also visited the House of Signatories and the Institute of the Lithuanian Language.

    ASSOC. PROF. DR. MARIJUS ŠIDLAUSKAS’S VISIT TO THE CENTRE FOR BALTIC STUDIES OF BRNO MASARYK UNIVERSITY

    On the 13th–19th of May 2018, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marijus Šidlauskas visited the Centre for Baltic Studies of Brno Masaryk University. He delivered a series of lectures “Modern Lithuanian Culture and Literature” and gave workshops “Panoramic Look at Modern Lithuanian Literature”, “Gintaras Grajauskas as a Representative of Lithuanian Literature”, “Lithuania Minor Tradition in Lithuanian Culture and Literature”.

    PROF. DR. GINTAUTAS KUNDROTAS’S FROM LITHUANIAN UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES VISIT TO THE CENTRE FOR BALTIC STUDIES OF GEORGIAN TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

    On the 14th–20th of May 2018, Dean of the Faculty of Education in Humanities of Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences Prof. Dr. Gintautas Kundrotas visited the Centre for Baltic Studies of Georgian Technical University. He delivered a series of lectures “Lithuanian Pronunciation: Sounds, Words, Intonation” and gave workshops on Lithuanian sounds, word stress, intonation and its expression in literary texts of Lithuanian authors.

    RIMA RADYGINA’S FROM THE CENTRE FOR BALTIC STUDIES OF MAXIM TANK BELARUSIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY VISIT TO LITHUANIAN UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES

    On the 7th–13th of May 2018, lecturer Rima Radygina from the Centre for Baltic Studies of Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University visited Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences. During short-term visit, Rima Radygina observed Lithuanian teachers’ lectures and workshops, and worked in the Lithuanian libraries where she collected materials for her lectures and workshops.

    PROF. DR. ALVYDAS BUTKUS FROM VYTAUTAS MAGNUS UNIVERSITY VISITING REZEKNE ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGIES

    On 14-20 May, Prof. Dr. Alvydas Butkus, head of the Centre of Letonics at VMU, gave lectures to students of Rezekne Academy of Technologies (Latvia). Students studying Lithuanian language and literature had an opportunity to attend lectures on the ethnolinguistic aspects of antroponymy and the nature of Lithuanian statehood and its interpretations.

    PROF. DR. DAIVA SINKEVIČIŪTĖ FROM VILNIUS UNIVERSITY VISITING UNIVERSITY OF LATVIA

    On 6-12 May, Prof. Dr. Daiva Sinkevičiūtė from Vilnius University visited University of Latvia, where she gave lectures on Lithuanian names “Lithuanian Names and their Variety”, delivered a workshop on spoken Lithuanian together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Edmundas Trumpa and consulted students. On 10-12 May, Prof. Dr. D. Sinkevičiūtė participated in the conference „Onomastic Investigations“, where she presented a paper on „Tendencies of the formation and usage of Baltic nouns with suffix -ut- in Lithuania“.

    PROF. DR. NICOLE NAU FROM ADAM MICKIEWICH UNIVERSITY IN POZNAN VISITING VILNIUS UNIVERSITY

    On 1-5 May, Prof. Dr. Nicole Nau from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań visited Vilnius University, where she delivered a lecture on sentence composition in the spoken discourse, based on Latgalian texts. She also met with Baltic studies specialists from Vilnius University and discussed the problems related to Baltic languages research and didactical issues.

    DR. HALINA BERESNEVIČIŪTĖ-NOSALOVA VISITING VYTAUTAS MAGNUS UNIVERSITY

    On 6-13 May, Dr. Halina Beresnevičiūtė-Nosalova from Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, was visiting Vilnius and Kaunas. During her visit, Dr. H. Beresnevičiūtė-Nosalova worked in libraries in Vilnius and Kaunas, where she collected material for the courses on history and the articles on Lithuanian history that she is writing. Dr. Halina Beresnevičiūtė-Nosalova also met with colleagues working at the Department of History at Vytautas Magnus University.

    DOCTORAL STUDENT TEREZA KABELAČOVA FROM MASARYK UNIVERSITY (BRNO) VISITING VILNIUS UNIVERSITY

    On the 6th–13th of May 2018, the doctoral student Tereza Kabelačova from the Institute of Linguistics and Baltic Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy at Masaryk University (Brno) visited Vilnius University. During the visit, Tereza Kabelačova worked in the library, got individual consultations from scientists of Vilnius University and attended some lectures.
