The course starts on 3 September 2018 and ends on 21 December 2018. Participating students are exempted from the tuition fee; they will also have their travelling expenses covered and will receive a scholarship on a monthly basis. For more information: Ongoing Registration.

On 23-30 April, Dr. Lilita Zalkalns, a Professor of the Department of Baltic Languages at Stockholm University, was visiting Vytautas Magnus University. During her visit, Lilita Zalkalns delivered a lecture on contemporary Swedish society, its political, social, and cultural aspects. She also met with colleagues and worked at the University Library.

On the 15th–21st of April 2018, Prof. Dr. Marzhan Tajiyeva from the Centre for Baltic Studies at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University visited Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences. During the visit, Prof. Dr. Marzhan Tajiyeva observed lectures on the Lithuanian language at Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences. She also met with teachers and employees of this university and visited Lithuanian libraries. 

On April 9-15, Prof. Dr. Dalia Kuizinienė was visiting Jagiellonian University in Krakow, where she gave lectures on Lithuanian exile prose and poetry and discussed the possibilities of further cooperation with colleagues from the Centre of Lithuanian culture.

On the 15th–21st of April 2018, Prof. Dr. Regina Rinkauskienė and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Laimutė Bučienė from the Faculty of Education in Humanities of Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences visited the Centre for Baltic Studies at the University of Helsinki. During the visit, Prof. Dr. R. Rinkauskienė delivered a series of lectures „Lithuanian Dialects and Ethnographic Regions“ and led workshops „Points of Intersection of Lithuanian Dialects and Language History“. Assoc. Prof. Dr. L. Bučienė delivered a series of lectures „Functional Aspect of Syntactic Structure of the Lithuanian Language“ and offered workshops „Practical Aspects of Lithuanian Syntax“.

On the 18th–24th of April 2018, Prof. Dr. Gintautas Kundrotas, Dean of the Faculty of Education in Humanities of Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences, visited the Centre for Baltic Studies at Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University. During the visit, Prof. Dr. G. Kundrotas delivered a series of lectures „Segmental and Supersegmental Elements of the Lithuanian Language“ and a number of different lectures on international words, choosing and usage of forms of grammatical words, and led workshops on phonetics.   

On the 11th–24th of April 2018, Dr. Laura Laurušaitė from the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore visited the University of Helsinki. In the framework of her visit, Dr. Laura Laurušaitė delivered a series of lectures “The Main Features of the 21st Century Lithuanian and Latvian Literature” to BA and MA students in the study field of the Lithuanian and Latvian languages at the University of Helsinki.

On the 3rd–17th of April 2018, Prof. Dr. Ainė Ramonaitė from Vilnius University visited Seattle University, Washington. At Seattle University Prof. Dr. Ainė Ramonaitė delivered the following lectures:  “Russian Hybrid Threats for Lithuania”, “Lithuania in the EU”, “How Scandinavian is Lithuania?”, “Lithuanian Elections and Political Parties”, and “100 Years of Fights for Freedom: Lithuanian Civic Resistance from the Sociological Perspective”. She also participated at the events organised by the Lithuanian community.

On the 3rd–17th of April 2018, Prof. Dr. Meilutė Ramonienė from Vilnius University visited Seattle University, Washington. At Seattle University Prof. Dr. Meilutė Ramonienė delivered lectures on sociolinguistic situation in Lithuania, language policy and its planning, preserving the Lithuanian language in Lithuanian diaspora abroad. Professor also gave consultations to Seattle University students.   

On the 6th of April, Vilnius University and the University of Dev Sanskriti in Haridwar (India) signed an agreement of cooperation in the project „Lithuanian Academic Scheme for International Cooperation in Baltic Studies”.
