    VIOLETA LOPETIENĖ’S FROM THE CENTRE FOR BALTIC STUDIES OF YURIY FEDKOVYCH CHERNIVTSI NATIONAL UNIVERSITY VISIT TO LITHUANIAN UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES

    On the 8th–15th of December 2017, Violeta Lopetienė from the Centre for Baltic Studies of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University visited Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences (LEU). During the short-term visit, Violeta Lopetienė attended lectures of LEU teachers, carried out research at LEU and other libraries, and participated at different events.

    ASSOC. PROF. DR. VILMA ZUBAITIENĖ’S FROM VILNIUS UNIVERSITY VISIT TO EÖTVÖS LORÁND UNIVERSITY IN BUDAPEST

    On the 19th–26th November 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vilma Zubaitienė from the Department of the Lithuanian Language, Vilnius University, visited Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. During the visit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vilma Zubaitienė delivered a series of lectures on dictionaries and the norms of the Lithuanian language. She also gave consultations to students on lexical typology and compilation of bilingual dictionaries for teaching.

    PROF. DR. GRASILDA BLAŽIENĖ’S FROM LITHUANIAN UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES VISIT TO CHARLES UNIVERSITY IN PRAGUE

    On the 1st–9th of November 2017, academician Grasilda Blažienė from Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences visited Charles University in Prague, where she delivered a series of lectures on methodology of writing research paper, compiling bilingual dictionaries and discussed relations between Czech and Lithuanian dictionaries, literatures, and cultures with students of the University.    During discussions with teachers from the Centre for Baltic Studies of Charles University in Prague, Prof. Dr. G. Blažienė touched upon studies and research development, and cooperation in the sphere of Lithuanian studies.  

    PROF. DR. MARINA FOSCHI’S FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF PISA VISIT TO VILNIUS UNIVERSITY

     On the 26th–29th of November 2017, Prof. Dr. Marina Foschi from the Department of Philology, Linguistics and Literature, the University of Pisa, visited the Faculty of Philology, Vilnius University,   where she discussed with colleagues the conception of a new joint Vilnius University and the University of Pisa MA programme, and also delivered a lecture to students of the study programme Italian Philology.  

    ASSOC. PROF. DR. DAIVA VAIŠNIENĖ’S FROM LITHUANIAN UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES VISIT TO THE CENTRE FOR BALTIC STUDIES OF STOCKHOLM UNIVERSITY

    On the 3rd–9th of December 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daiva Vaišnienė from Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences visited the Centre for Baltic Studies of Stockholm University. During a short-term visit, Dr. Daiva Vaišnienė delivered a series of lectures on the Lithuania’s policy on the state language and seminars “Language Usage and Norms”.

    PROFESSOR KASTYTIS BARISAS’ FROM LITHUANIAN UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES VISIT TO THE CENTRE FOR BALTIC STUDIES OF IMMANUEL KANT BALTIC FEDERAL UNIVERSITY

    On the 3rd–9th of December 2017, Professor Kastytis Barisas from Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences visited the Centre for Baltic Studies of Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. During the visit, Professor Kastytis Barisas delivered lectures and seminars on the Lithuanian language, Lithuanian history, culture, ethnoculture, gave master classes on Lithuanian songs, discussed Lithuanian and Russian traditions with the University students, and had a meeting with the Dean of the Faculty and teachers from the Centre for Baltic Studies.

    TEACHER LINA PESTAL’S FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF VIENNA VISIT TO VILNIUS UNIVERSITY

    On the 20th–26th of November 2017, teacher of the Lithuanian language Lina Pestal from the Centre for Lithuanian Studies at the Institute of Scandinavian Studies, the University of Vienna, visited Vilnius University. During the study visit, she attended Lithuanian classes at the Institute of Applied Linguistics, Vilnius University, approached teachers for consultations on methods of teaching Lithuanian, visited the university library and took part in the conference “Historical Territory of Lithuania Minor”. 

    ASSOC. PROF. DR. ERIKA RIMKUTĖ VISITING MASARYK UNIVERSITY IN BRNO

    On 1-8 December 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erika Rimkutė from Vytautas Magnus University was visiting the Department of Linguistics and Baltic Studies at Masaryk University in Brno, where she gave some lectures to the students of the Baltic studies programme. Assoc. Prof. Rimkutė introduced the results of quantitative research on the morphometric structure of modern Lithuanian words and discussed the possibilities of their application.

    ASSOC. PROF. DR. GIEDRIUS JANAUSKAS’ VISIT TO HELSINKI UNIVERSITY

    On 27 November – 4 December 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Giedrius Janauskas from Vytautas Magnus University was visiting the University of Helsinki. During his visit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Janauskas delivered the following lectures: “In between of the Baltic Sea States: Lithuanian Perspective”, “Formation of the Baltic Sea Region: Past, Reality, and Projection of the Future”, “National narrative(s) of the History of Lithuania: Challenges of the 20th century”, and “100 years of history: Finland and Lithuania”. The lectures were given to the students of the Baltic Studies programme and other programmes at the University of Helsinki. Janauskas met with pupils from the School of Ruusutorppa located in the city of Espoo and their parents. He also participated in the screening of Arūnas Matelis’s film “Flight over Lithuania”.

    PROF. DR. GRASILDA BLAŽIENĖ’S FROM LITHUANIAN UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES VISIT TO THE CENTRE FOR BALTIC STUDIES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PISA

    From the 28th of November to the 4th of December 2017, Prof. Dr. Grasilda Blažienė from Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences visited the Centre for Baltic Studies of the University of Pisa. During the visit, Prof. Dr. Grasilda Blažienė delivered a series of lectures “Baltic Linguistics in European Context” and seminars about theory and practice of translation to the University students. Prof. Dr. Grasilda Blažienė also had meetings with teachers from the Centre and the University.
