    DR. VYTAUTAS RINKEVIČIUS’ FROM VILNIUS UNIVERSITY VISIT TO THE UNIVERSITY OF LATVIA

    On the 22nd–29th October 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vytautas Rinkevičius from the Department of Baltic Studies, Vilnius University, visited the Centre for Lithuanian Studies at the University of Latvia. At the Centre for Lithuanian Studies, Dr. Vytautas Rinkevičius delivered a series of lectures “The Prussian Language”, and discussed prospects of cooperation.

    ASSOC. PROF. DR. VIJOLĖ VIŠOMIRSKYTĖ’S VISIT TO CHARLES UNIVERSITY IN PRAGUE

    On October 19-25, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vijolė Višomirskytė from the Department of Lithuanian Studies (Vytautas Magnus University) visited the Baltic Studies Centre at Charles University in Prague. During her visit, she gave lectures to students, discussed issues related to teaching Lithuanian as a foreign language, and got acquainted with student translations.

    DR. ANTRA KĻAVINSKA’S VISIT IN LITHUANIA

    On October 20-29, Dr. Antra Kļavinska, lecturer at the Baltic Studies Centre at Rezekne Academy of Technologies, visited Lithuania. During the visit, she participated in an international seminar held at Vytautas Magnus University, gave lectures to VMU students, met with VMU lecturers and researchers, and worked at the Library of Vilnius University.

    LITHUANIAN UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES PROFESSOR DR. DAINIUS VAITIEKŪNAS’ ACADEMIC VISIT TO NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ORIENTAL LANGUAGES AND CIVILIZATIONS IN PARIS (INALCO)

    On 16-22 October 2017, Prof. Dr. Dainius Vaitiekūnas from the Department of Lithuanian and Comparative Literature at Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences visited National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations in Paris (INALCO). Prof. Dr. Dainius Vaitiekūas delivered a series of lectures on the 21st c. literature to the students of the Centre for Lithuanian Studies.    

    THE VISIT OF ALIONA SHYBA AT LITHUANIAN UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES

    From 29 October to 4 November 2017, Aliona Shyba as a representative of the Centre of Lithuanian Studies at Chernovcy National Jurij Fedkovich Pedagogical University visited Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences. During the short-term visit, Aliona Shyba attended classes of teachers working at Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences, had meetings with members of the administration, discussed topical issues with colleagues, and worked at Vilnius libraries.

    LITHUANIAN UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES PROFESSOR DR. GINTAUTAS KUNDROTAS’ ACADEMIC VISIT TO MAXIM TANK BELARUSIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

    On 16-22 October 2017, Prof. Dr. Gintautas Kundrotas from the Department of Germanic, Romance, Slavonic Philology and Didactics at Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences visited the Centre for Lithuanian Studies at Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University. The professor delivered lecturers on segmental and supersegmental units of language, parts of speech and their forms, loanwords, international words and pronunciation to the students of the Centre for Lithuanian Studies. 

    THE VISIT OF PROF. DR. ASTA KAZLAUSKIENĖ AND ASSOC. PROF. DR. LAIMA ANGLICKIENĖ AT THE GEORGIAN TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

    On 15-22 October 2017, Prof. Dr. Asta Kazlauskienė and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Laima Anglickienė (Vytautas Magnus University) were visiting the Centre of the Lithuanian Language and Culture at the Georgian Technical University in Tbilisi. They gave lectures to students of beginners and advanced groups, had meetings with the staff of the Centre of the Lithuanian Language and Culture and other university lecturers studying the Lithuanian language, and provided counselling to students writing research papers.

    INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC WORKSHOP

    On 12-14 October 2017, the international scientific workshop “The Baltists’ Agora: Literature, Culture, and Mythology” was held in Riga (Latvia). It was organized by the Literary Baltic Studies Group at the Lithuanian Literature and Folklore Institute in cooperation with the Centre for Linguistics at the University of Latvia. The event was aimed at problematizing research on Baltic identity and self-consciousness in the context of literature, culture and mythology. During this academic workshop, not only the relations between Lithuanian and foreign Baltists and their institutions were developed, but also the most recent research in Baltic studies was presented.

    INTERNSHIP OF GINTARĖ JUDŽENTYTĖ

    On 8-15 October 2017, lecturer from the Department of Lithuanian Language, Faculty of Philology at Vilnius University Gintarė Judžentytė participated in an internship at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. During the visit, Gintarė Judžentytė delivered a series of lectures on "The History of the Lithuanian Language" and "A System of Pronouns in Standard Lithuanian" to students of the Department of Baltic Studies.
